The Unemployment Advocate is a service of Tyler W. Brennan Law, LLC.
This Privacy Policy explains how The Unemployment Advocate ("we," "us," or "the firm") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and services.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us. When you contact us, use our intake process, or engage our services, we collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address, along with details about your employment, the circumstances surrounding the end of your employment, and any documents you provide. Because of the nature of our services, this information may be sensitive.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site you arrived from, and the dates and times of your visits, through server logs and similar technologies.
Cookies and analytics. We use cookies and analytics tools to understand how our site is used and to improve it. Most browsers let you refuse or be notified of cookies, though some features may not work properly without them.
Payment information. If you purchase a service, your payment is processed by our third-party payment processor, LawPay. We do not store complete payment card information.
2. Use of Artificial Intelligence and Technology Tools
To provide our services efficiently and affordably, we use a range of technology tools, including artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as large language models (LLMs), an AI-assisted calendaring and scheduling tool, and attorney-built AI agents — including our intake assistant, Eliza — that assist with screening, information gathering, scheduling, and the preparation of case materials. Information you provide may be processed by these tools in the course of assisting with your matter.
All technology tools used by the firm have been vetted to ensure the security and confidentiality of your information and compliance with applicable American Bar Association (ABA) rules and guidance regarding the use of technology in the practice of law. A licensed attorney maintains oversight of the work these tools support, and these tools do not replace the professional judgment of an attorney.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to respond to your inquiries, provide and manage the services you request, communicate with you, process payments, operate and improve our website, and comply with our legal and professional obligations.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share it with:
- the attorney(s) providing your services;
- trusted service providers and technology vendors (including the tools described in Section 2 and our payment processor) who process information on our behalf under obligations of confidentiality;
- other parties when required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety; and
- in connection with a business transfer.
5. How We Protect Your Information
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and to meet our legal and professional obligations.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You may contact us at any time to review, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to opt out of future marketing communications. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
