Founder

Tyler W. Brennan — employment attorney and founder of The Unemployment Advocate

Tyler W. Brennan is an employment and civil rights attorney with over a decade of experience. He has represented hundreds of individuals at every stage of the legal process, from pre-litigation advising through trial. Over the years, around 1,000 people reached out to his firm after losing their jobs, seeking help with unemployment benefits.

Why I Built The Unemployment Advocate

Through my practice, I saw a harsh reality: as many as 90% of the people seeking help with unemployment benefits were unable to get it. There simply aren't enough attorneys working in this area, and for many people, legal fees are out of reach.

In 2025, I set out to change that. I spent countless hours identifying the specific pain points in the system, researching where help could make the greatest difference at a fair and reasonable cost, and partnering with leaders in the legal technology sector to build an attorney-backed system that gives people real, affordable options.

In May 2026, after extensive training and testing, The Unemployment Advocate was born — the answer to a problem I'd watched go unsolved for far too long.

Our Approach

The Unemployment Advocate is built on a suite of advanced, modern technologies — each one carefully investigated, adopted, and refined with a single goal: to make experienced legal help faster, more affordable, and within reach. At the center is Eliza, our AI intake assistant, trained by the firm's founder, who walks you through a quick screening and gathers the details of your situation. Around her is a set of secure, attorney-built tools that streamline case review, preparation, and scheduling — each one vetted for security and professional-responsibility standards before it ever touches your case.

Technology is what makes this model possible, but it never replaces judgment. Every case is reviewed by a licensed employment attorney, and what you receive is shaped by years of real legal experience — not generated and sent off unchecked. That's the whole point: to open a door for people who were priced out of traditional representation, and to put a genuine advocate in their corner.

You don't have to navigate this alone.
